This week I write a shot tutorial on how to use FRITZ!Box behind a cable Modem.
You have to connect your FRITZ!Box via Network cable on the “LAN1” Port of FRITZ!Box and connect your computer to FRITZ!Box either via LAN or Wi-Fi.
To see all the following settings please activate the Expert Mode in the System folder first. Now copy the settings in the screenshot.

For upstream / downstream please insert the Internet speed data for your line. Save the settings.
Last but not least you will need to restart your cable modem & FRITZ!Box by unplugging them from the power mains for a moment.
Now everything should be working!

Some ISP’s like TRUE and CAT are offering Internet via cable. However until now the service is restricted to certain areas in Bangkok only. The main advantage of Internet via Cable is the higher speed at cheaper pricing. However you will need to use a special cable modem that will receive the Internet signal via coaxial cable.
AVM’s new FRITZ!Box 6360 with build in cable modem can be connected directly to your cable jack. It allows convenient access to the Internet over cable, fast WLAN N, four gigabit Ethernet ports and a USB 2.0 port provide for the best network connections. The integrated telephone system and connection options for cordless telephones round out the comprehensive equipment.
