The Polycom SoundStation 2 is designed for small to medium conference rooms with up to 10 attendees and a microphone pick-up range of up to 3 meter. The conference phone has built-in acoustic echo cancelling to allow rich and life-like conference calls with full-duplex Acoustic Clarity Technology. The LCD display also makes this conference phone incredibly easy to use, letting you view the number you have called, store numbers in a virtual phone book, keep track of the duration and progress of your call, and more.
Three microphones and a powerful, digitally-tuned speaker provide full 360-degree coverage, whether you use the system in a conference room or your own office. The built-in keypad looks and works just like a touch-tone telephone, and offers very useful features like a mute button and flash key.
The SoundStation2 also offers a very clever application port lets you connect via Polycom’s Computer Calling Kit and arrange Video Conferences via Skype, Google Hangouts, GotoMeeting arrange webinars etc.
The Polycom SoundStation2 is also available as SoundStation2 EX featuring two ports for optional extended microphones, which plug directly into the unit. These mics can then be used to extend the unit’s range beyond its inbuilt 3 meters – perfect for longer boardroom tables where attendees tend to be spaced further away from the conference phone.
The device can be plugged into any analog wall outlet and be used as standalone device or connected to any existing analog phone system. The SoundStation also integrates seamlessly with the Grandstream UCM series, the FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN series or Yeastars IP PBX devices via their S2 or S0 cards.
